I had an incredible dining experience at the off-the-grid Hawaii restaurant! The freshness of locally grown ingredients, especially the coconut, added a delightful touch. The chicken bowl with wild mushrooms was a savory masterpiece, and the finale with papaya ice cream was a sweet symphony. A true farm-to-table gem, deserving of five stars for its commitment to organic, local, and delicious cuisine!
STOP HERE! A beautiful fruit stand/food truck with gorgeous fruit trees just a stones throw away that you can see on the property. The tangerines are sour and sweet and delicious (only 4 for$1). Perfect slice of soft and moist banana bread. The ahi poke nachos were fresh and delicious (compliments chef!). I ordered a limeade... just right and not too sweet. There is plenty of seating, so you can take in the views and see their animals (donkeys, cows and caught a glimpse of a wild pig across the road). So glad a good friend recommended it to me.
This place is an experience in itself. It’s a food truck that has outdoor seating overlooking the ocean, can’t get much better than that. We were there on a Sunday afternoon so it was fairly busy and they had a live music.
If you get one item definitely get the pork nachos. They were excellent. The chicken plate was also tasty, the chicken was flavorful and juicy. The basil lemonade was very refreshing.
I would also recommend giving the chocolate ice cream a try. I think it was the best ice cream I’ve ever had.
Overall I would absolutely recommend this place if you are in this area. When we come back to the Big Island this will definitely be a place we would drive out of our way for to come to again.
Stopped by after visiting Pololū Valley. This place does not disappoint you. There’s at least one item for pickiest eaters like me.
The first thing that catches your attention is the view. It’s unbelievably picture perfect- farms, ocean, farm animals, cute cafe and very comfortable seating arrangement.
We ordered pineapple pleasure, guava juice and macadamia nut brownie. They were all 5/5; it’s hard to pick the best of all. Guava juice was very refreshing; perfect remedy for after hike sweating. I’m usually picky with chocolates and brownies but their macadamia nut brownie was really really good. Given that they are located “off the grid” and far away from any inhabited areas, the prices are definitely worth it (except maybe fresh fruits since there are a lot more cheaper places to buy fresh local fruits).
A true delight! Fresh Off the Grid exceeded all expectations. The shave ice with ice cream was a delightful treat—perfectly refreshing. The nachos, whether topped with poke or pork, were a burst of fantastic flavors. The poke salad was a light and refreshing choice. Everything felt incredibly fresh and of top-notch quality. The friendly service added an extra layer of enjoyment to the visit.
This place is so good!!! Stopped here on our way back from Pololu Valley hike.. got the “homegrown” smoothie and it was AMAZING! The spot is in a perfect location, very calming with birds chirping an Hawaiian music in the background. MUST stop by if going to Pololu.
Don’t miss the chance to stop here and pick up some fresh fruit and a poke bowl! There is also a variety of other delicious options for eating and drinking. The views from here are outstanding but the best part really is the people who work here. What a beautiful family and the energy is perfect.
I wish we came here for lunch, this place is just unique. The view is crazy, with their beautiful horses before the ocean and cliffs!
And the staff is the nicest and coolest of the island!
